Lavasoft created a great little program called Ad-Aware. Ad-Aware has been around for many years and has rid the world of more adware and spyware than most other anti-spyware programs combined. Using Ad-Aware

After downloading Ad-Aware's install file, installation and setup are a breeze. Ad-Aware SE has a handy status screen that displays objects removed, total number of scans, objects in quarantine, and objects to ignore. It is pretty self explanitory, just do a scan one or two times a week and your computer should stay pretty clean. Use this in combination with at lease one other spyware removal program, and if you have problems removing found spyware, reboot into Safe Mode and re-scan.
