What are Browser Help Objects?
BHO's, or Browser Help Objects, are files that add functionality to Firefox or Internet Explorer. This can be a good thing, but also can be bad. While BHO's can be very useful and helpful, they also have full access to your web browser and how you use it.
Why Are They Dangerous?
BHO use can be deceptive as well, because you may think that you've gotten a spyware problem fixed, and as soon as you open your web browser, you get re-infected. HijackThis is the best way to see what BHO's are installed on your system. You may want to remove most of them, at least the ones that you aren't sure of.
Negative BHO's can be removed by doing a spyware scan. Go to our Basic Spyware Removal to learn how to effectivley scan your computer.
